You really couldn’t stay in a grander or more handsome Manchester building than the Britannia. What’s more, it offers a real taste of a bygone era at a reasonable price. But in spite of the imposing architecture, the emphasis is on human-scale friendliness and helpful service.
The Britannia Hotel is housed in a Grade II listed building, which dates from 1858 and was originally a cotton warehouse. A prime example of Manchester's architectural heritage, it boasts outstanding details, such as the sweeping staircase that dominates the lobby. The hotel has recently completed its refurbishment in the public areas and ongoing refurbishment of all the bedrooms, making the hotel brighter and more welcoming.
The hotel’s bars – “WAVE bar” and “bar-rogue” – are two of Manchester’s most popular meeting places. They offer food all day long at affordable prices, accompanied by great music and the best DJs. Add to these Jenny's Carvery and the restyled Pizzeria and you are truly spoilt for choice.
